Photo tile jewelry has become more and more popular recently.  After all, everyone loves having pictures of their loved ones, and putting those same pictures on jewelry is a legitimate way of showing them off to others without being too pushy.  I myself own several photo tile pendants with my grandchildren’s photos and I even have a photo tile keychain with my cat’s picture on it.  Although not too many people comment on my cat, my grandchildren always evoke dozens of admiring comments each time I wear the pendant (which is quite often!).

My husband was a Marine back in the 1970’s, so when we were thinking of charities that we would like to contribute to with our business, Toys for Tots was a natural choice.  We have donated toys every year to this worthy cause and we’re very excited that now, as business owners, we can do even more to help.

Toys for Tots was founded by Major Bill Hendricks, a United States Marine Corps Reservist, in 1947.  With the help of other Marines, Major Hendricks was able to collect and deliver of 5,000 toys to needy children.  Since that time, Toys for Tots has distributed over 370 million toys to more than 173 million needy children at Christmas time.

Everyone knows that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but did you know:

  *  Breast cancer is second only to lung cancer in cancer deaths among women.
  *  An estimated 40,480 women will die from breast cancer in 2008.
  *  An estimated 450 men will die from breast cancer in 2008.
  *  One woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 3 minutes, and one woman
      will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes in the United States.

It is safe to say that nearly everyone has been touched by this deadly disease in one way or another.  We’ve either experienced it firsthand or know someone who has.  I and several members of my family have personally felt the effects of breast cancer.  This is why my company,Wedding Favor Reflections.com, donates 10% of the net proceeds from the sale of our Pink Ribbon favors and gifts to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation every year.
